Question:
How do I handle Effexor withdrawal?
How long do the withdrawal symptoms last? I’ve been taking 300 mg a day for a long time. I no longer have insurance and can't afford the prescription. What are the withdrawal symptoms I will experience and how long does it take before the medication is completely out of my system?
Thank you.
Dr. Heller's Answer:
The length of time is highly variable, but are usually a problem for a few weeks. It’s recommended the dose be lowered by reducing the dose by 75mg weekly. It’s usually out of the body within a week, the majority is gone in 48 hours.
