Question:
But I am 52 years old! How the hell can I now be diagnosed as having this awful......disease!!!?
I have in the last six years been told that I have depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Six months ago I had a new doctor who has given me this new title, of which I am not at all impressed. I am trying to take in new information but I am finding it so difficult. I must add that my new psychiatrist is very nice and caring(I hope).
Please--any help would be great.

In my practice, it’s not unusual for someone to be diagnosed for the first time in their 70's. Although symptoms change somewhat over time, the BPD persists throughout life and starts at puberty.
