What is chronic dysphoria? When does a symptom become chronic?

Chronic is when it persists over time, the exact length of time is individualized.
Dysphoria (anxiety, rage, depression and despair) is a symptom borderlines experience under stress or when they perceive a threat. It appears to be an epilepsy phenomenon (nerve cells firing inappropriately and out of control). Those without the BPD can experience dysphoria under some stressors, but it’s nothing like what borderlines go through.
