Question:
I saw a MD for 6 months, tried several different serotonin
drugs. Got much worse. I am now seeing a counselor, The
Psych. on the staff place me on Klonopin 1mg twice a day. I
still feel so anxious and sometimes so sad I burst into
tears. I have always been anxious. The GAD described me to
a
'T'. Could the Klonopin be causing me to feel so sad and
cry a
lot.? Please help me. I am just so tired of all this
sadness. My counselor is great, but I have felt bad so
long. Will it ever stop?

SSRI’s usually make the GAD worse, particularly the
cognitive component (persistent worry). Klonopin is
particularly helpful for panic, and reduces some of the
neurological aspects of anxiety. BuSpar is the best
medication for the GAD, particularly the cognitive
component.
