Question:
I was just wondering is bipolar could
be brought on by a doctor prescribing meds to a
person while guessing at the diagnosis.
I never experienced a manic or hypomanic episode
(according to the DSM criteria) until after the
diagnosis and since then I have gotten only worse.

Bipolar is often first diagnosed because
an antidepressant or stimulant triggers mania. When
triggered by a substance its referred to as Bipolar III.
It's possible you do indeed have bipolar, or it could
just be triggered by the drug. It is a difficult
