Why is Paxil better for social phobia? What is different about Paxil that makes it better for treating social anxiety disorder than any other SSRI?
ANSWER:
The company that makes Paxil sought that approval first from the FDA. While there are occasional patients who do better for social phobia and/or panic disorder with Paxil, in general most SSRI's work. I usually recommend Prozac first and to go from there.
