Q. My brother-in-law was told he has hypomania. He hears voices and sometimes acts out what the voices say. He has had a liver transplant and in his 70's There aren't to many meds he can take. What do you think?
A. He most likely has more than just hypomania. Medication options are abundant even after a liver transplant. Risperdal would be considered safe, and Tegretol can be taken but the liver tests must be monitored.
