It has been suggested by my physician that I may have this disorder. I shut him down immediately, but once I measured myself with the list of symptoms, I match all but two. What are the treatments generally prescribed for this disorder?
ANSWER:
The same medications as for mania. These include mood stabilizers such as lithium, Tegretol, Depakote, Topamax, Lamictil and Neurontin. Some people respond to high doses of omega 3 fish oils.
